Expanding the Capabilities of Liquid Handling Platforms & Integration with Interface Robotics

In her solutions spotlight talk—at 10:45 on Wednesday, May 29—Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Kerstin Thurow will be discussing how the functionality of liquid handling platforms has expanded to incorporate additional devices for various process steps, including incubations, centrifugations, tempering, solid phase extractions and the integration of optical measurement methods. She’ll also explore the latest advancements in liquid handling platforms and interface robotics.

Laboratory Automation and Miniaturization to Overcome the Challenges of Quality Control in ATMPs

VIVEbiotech, as a CDMO of gene therapy products, is at the forefront of integrating new technologies and automation to enhance the analytical characterization and release of lentiviral products. By integrating a Biomek i5 automated liquid handler and microfluidic technology, they have successfully automated and miniaturized both purity and potency assays, which are critical aspects for product release.

During the talk, Dr. Juan Camilo Estrada (VIVEbiotech's Head of Analytical Development) will present case studies showcasing how these technologies have significantly improved the quality, efficiency, and reliability of analytical results for functional and physical lentiviral titer.
